What a stellar year for Spruce Up Your Story! In 2024, Red River Mutual received over 200 submissions to support community spaces across Manitoba and Saskatchewan. With the help of a dedicated review committee (the Spruce Squad), and an all-staff vote, we landed on 11 winners:

Spruce Up Your Story isn’t about bringing a brand-new rec centre or library to life, rather, it’s about honouring and protecting the spaces that are well-worn and well-loved in our prairie communities – the places where stories are already being made. Each Spruce Up Your Story renovation or beautification project is submitted by a local community member.

Every year, Red River Mutual calls on organizations across Manitoba and Saskatchewan to submit their well-worn but well-loved recreation centres, community halls, parks and more for the chance to win up to $25,000 to rejuvenate their space. Since 2020, Red River Mutual has awarded over $750,000 to help revive 48 spaces.
