Spruce Up Your Story Returns to Fund More Community Space Projects

Whether it’s a youth centre needing support to complete their recreation space renovations, a community hoping for new benches and picnic tables at their community trail system, or a rural municipality coming together to get safer flooring for the local hockey rink, Red River Mutual is on the hunt again for community spaces that need some extra TLC and support to keep their stories going.

It’s in this spirit that we continue our community sponsorship initiative, Spruce Up Your Story, for the third year in a row.
How can you enter?
You can enter a project for your favourite community space, outlining a beautification project that would help sustain it for years to come, and share how that location is integral to your community.
What will your community receive?
We’ll help to restore select community spaces where people connect, laugh, learn, and share — providing up to $25,000 in cash to each space — with $150,000 total to award to deserving communities across Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
On top of the monetary gift, the winners can also have access to additional volunteer hours from a crew of staff members from Red River Mutual and their local brokerage, if and when it is safe to do so, to help complete the project.
These well-loved spaces will be evaluated based on their community impact, sustainability efforts, opportunity for volunteerism (safely, of course!) and a connection to one of our broker partners!
How do we determine the recipients?
Just like last year, we’re putting the selection process in our staff members’ capable hands with a voting process that allows them to decide which communities should win!
We’re thrilled to involve each and every Red River Mutual staff member in the opportunity to contribute to the campaign and to reward space that strikes a chord with our whole team.
