Red River Mutual Strengthens Community Ties Through Habitat for Humanity’s 2024 Team Build Day Program
At Red River Mutual, we believe in the power of community and the importance of giving back. As part of our ongoing commitment to community support, last week, 9 of our dedicated staff members volunteered for Habitat for Humanity’s Team Build Days. This initiative aligns with our value of caring for customers and coworkers like family, as it is designed to build strength, stability, and independence through affordable homeownership.
Red River Mutual and Community Support
Community support is at the heart of what we do at Red River Mutual. We understand that strong communities are built on cooperation, and we are committed to making a positive impact in the areas where we live and work. Our participation in Habitat for Humanity’s Team Build Days is just one of the ways we demonstrate this commitment.
What a great organization to work with! The staff and leaders at the Habitat build were very helpful by showing us how to use the tools safely and provide us with a few new life skills. It was a very rewarding day working with colleagues that I don’t normally get to work with on a project that is very meaningful within the community. I look forward to next year’s build! – Emma Jephcote, Manager, Business Transformation
Volunteering for Habitat for Humanity was an awesome opportunity. What a great way to give back to the community while learning some handyperson skills. I had fun getting to know my coworkers better, too. Thanks to Red River Mutual for making the day possible. – Brina Gervais, Communications Specialist
For someone that has always worked from home, this is a great opportunity to meet new coworkers. We were discussing on site about seeing the results of our day’s work and having a great sense of pride on what we accomplished as a team. – Justin Laroche, Loss Prevention Consultant
It’s rewarding to know that my small contribution will have long-term impact for the families receiving their new homes through Habitat for Humanity. – Teresa Hamm, Claims Manager
About Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity is a global nonprofit organization that works to provide safe, decent, and affordable housing for low-income families. Founded in 1987, Habitat for Humanity Manitoba is part of this global effort, mobilizing volunteers and community partners to build homes for those in need.
Habitat Team Build Days provide a unique opportunity for our staff to work together outside of the office environment, learn new skills, and make a tangible difference in our community. The program runs from May 7th to Nov 1st and accommodates teams of 10 to 50 people. Our staff worked in collaborative groups to complete building tasks, creating something meaningful for our community.
We are proud of our staff’s efforts and look forward to continuing our support for Habitat for Humanity and other community initiatives.
