Red River Mutual Sponsors Kiddie Sunshine Centre’s Enhancement Project
Red River Mutual is pleased to announce that we are the official Platinum Sponsor of the Kiddie Sunshine Centre, located in Altona, Manitoba, for its enhancement and expansion plan, which will add licensed daycare spaces and help improve access to childcare in Altona and surrounding Rhineland Municipality communities. Red River Mutual has committed $75,000 over the next three years to help the non-profit childcare facility serve local families.
“Red River Mutual is honoured to get involved with this project and to have an opportunity to live our purpose of being a positive force in the community,” says President and CEO of Red River Mutual, Brian Esau. “We value our customers and co-workers like family, and we hope our support can help these families by reducing a barrier or concern for childcare.”
The Centre was established in 1983 and is the only licensed, completely public, early childcare education option for the community. It currently offers 49 licensed childcare spaces for children from 12 weeks to 12 years of age with daycare, nursery school, and before and after school care.
The Centre is also an important part of the economic development of the community — every $1 invested in childcare generates $1.58 in local benefits. Upgrades will happen in four phases — a basement enhancement, infant area expansion, toddler area expansion, and then exterior expansion and enhancement — and aim to be completed by 2025.

“We are overwhelmed with the positive response and community support we have received to date,” says Laura Wiebe, President of the Board of Directors of Kiddie Sunshine Centre. “To see the community come together to support such an important initiative gives us great pride.”
Another confirmed sponsor of the project is Title Sponsor, Friesens Corporation. There are still various sponsor levels and packages available, but one-time donations can also be made to help support the Centre.
“We still have sponsor targets that need to be met,” says Jenna Book, Treasurer of the Board of Directors of Kiddie Sunshine Centre. “It’s not too late for other businesses to join in on the project to help support this worthy cause!”
