Red River Mutual Newly Elected Board Members

Altona, Manitoba – As a mutual, our company is owned by our policyholders. The policyholders elect a board of directors to provide oversight and guidance to the company.

Elections were held on April 10, 2013 at the Annual General Meeting. Red River Mutual is pleased to announce the election of the following leaders to the board of directors.

Frank Friesen – re-elected

Catherine Kloepfer – newly elected

Monique Vielfaure Mackenzie – newly elected

 

Biographies of Elected Directors

 Catherine Kloepfer

Catherine is a Chartered Accountant (FCA) as well a Certified General Accountant (CGA). She currently holds the position of Senior Vice President of Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer of the Winnipeg Airport Authority, responsible for human resources, information technology, planning and analysis, finance and real estate.

Catherine is currently the Chair of the Canadian Airport Insurance Reciprocal Exchange and the Canadian Airports Risk Management Group, which functions as an insurance buying group for 7 of the largest airports in Canada.

Prior to joining the Winnipeg Airport Authority Catherine was an Associate Partner at KPMG, responsible for many large and varied audit projects, including Red River Mutual.

Catherine also serves on the Board of Value Partners Investments, an investment fund management firm and volunteers as the treasurer of the Manitoba (Reh-fit) Cardiac Institute Foundation and serves on the Board of the St. Boniface Hospital.

 

Monique Vielfaure Mackenzie

A Registered Nurse by profession, Monique Vielfaure Mackenzie has an extensive breadth of knowledge and experience in the healthcare industry. A health services executive with more than 35 years of experience in government, hospital and regional health authority environments with well-established networks at the local, provincial and national levels.

She currently holds the position of Executive Director of the Regional Health Authorities of Manitoba (RHAM), reporting to a Board and accountable for the organization’s mandate of promoting and pursuing joint activities to provide patient-centered, integrated province-wide approaches to healthcare delivery.

Prior to this position Monique served as the Chief Executive Officer of the South Eastman Regional Health authority, overseeing a region that encompassed 67,000 residents and 1500 employees.

 

 Frank Friesen

Frank has served on the Board of Directors since 2001.  He has served on various committees over the years and is currently on the Conduct Review Committee.  He is a corporate member of the Bible League of Canada, serves as Chair of the operating committee for the Gallery in the Park located in Altona, Manitoba, he serves on the Board of Directors for Inner City Youth Alive in Winnipeg, and is the Administrative Pastor at the Altona EMM Church.
