Opa’s Park is Niverville, Manitoba’s hidden gem. Donated by a local family over 50 years ago, it’s a living legacy of free-play, generosity, and community spirit. Green and secluded, children experience it as a place of their own. Thanks to a recent volunteer-led restoration, emphasizing nature-based play and enquiry, teachers from the Elementary School even use it for class excursions!
An exclusive swing and accessible pathways to connect the current features of the park would support all-ability, intergenerational play and powerfully increase a sense of belonging for all the people who visit the park.
