Alonsa New Horizon Seniors Centre

The New Horizons room is located within the Alonsa Recreational Complex, which includes the seniors’ room. The senior space is the only dedicated space in the community where seniors can meet for coffee, cards, pool, meals, and senior-oriented community events, like bi-monthly senior dinners. Alonsa is a small town and there are no businesses in the community. There are community service providers, including subsidized housing for seniors, a school and the RM office. Spruce Up Your Story funding would allow the community to improve one of the only spaces available for older community members.

The community wants to improve the senior centre and park with a new window, fridge, lift seats for accessibility, and additional garden boxes, which are in high demand.
